Victorian Concession News
Recently the Department of Human Services (Vic) has changed the process of how some concessions should be calculated in relation to the discounts you receive from Dodo Power & Gas.
Previously for the Annual Electricity, Off Peak / Controlled Load Concession and the Winter Energy Concession your concession amounts were calculated before your discount was applied and was deducted from your usage before the discount was calculated.
These concessions are now calculated on your energy account, after the application of discounts, and these concessions will no longer be deducted from usage before the discount is calculated.
This will mean that while your concession totals will be smaller, your Pay on Time Discount amount will be larger.
The Department of Human Services (Vic) also moved to rename the Off Peak Concession, and clarify the eligibility requirements for this concession.
The Off Peak Concession has been renamed to the "Electricity Controlled Load Concession" and only applies to separately metered "controlled load" electricity appliances, such as off peak hot water heating or under slab floor heating. Off peak electricity for general household use (even if it includes hot water heating) is not eligible for the Electricity Controlled Load Concession.

The Department of Human Services (Vic) has clarified the concession treatment of credits or payments for solar generated electricity.
Solar Feed-in credits are now to be included in the calculation of the total bill that concessions are applicable to, reducing the total amount that the concession is calculated on.
