What is VOIP?

VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is a technology that uses an internet connection to make phone calls to land lines and mobile phones.

What Equipment Do I Need To Have To Use VOIP?

To use VOIP you need either a VOIP enabled modem or a VOIP ATA (Analogue Telephone Adapter).

You will still use your telephone handset but instead of plugging you're the handset into the phone socket on your wall, you will plug it into the back of your VOIP enabled modem or ATA.

The VOIP ATA hardware converts the voice signal from your telephone handset into a digital signal that travels over the internet connection then converts it back to voice at the other end.

You can also use software applications on your computer, mobiles and tablets to use the VOIP service instead of using VOIP ATA hardware.
