Austria is a paradise for skiers. In Montafon we rented a huge house for 12 people. It was just awesome. The house had two floors, two kitchens and enough room for everybody. It took us about ten minutes to the piste. The ski-region is very well prepared and there is a big diversity of trails.
Beside skiing there is so much more you can do. One of the greatest events was a big Party in the mountains. When the pistes close, a lot of other people and we met at a ski hut very high in the mountains. While enjoying the wonderful view, we ate Austrian food and had a lot of drinks. After an hour everybody was dancing, still wearing the ski suit and heavy boots. After nearly 3 hours, and almost 10 Cocktails for everybody, we had to get down the hill again. People, who were just too drunk to make it, could take a snow cat. I'm sure, this would have been a funny ride but my friends and me decided to ski down. It was just amazing. I don't remember any day I had so much fun on a piste. Two guys were leading us with torches, one in the front of the group and one behind. It was hard to keep the group of laughing youngsters under control..but I think, there were used to it. Except for the panic yells , there were very polite Austrian overseers ;-)...
Don't miss coasting on bin liners. Since it is a night-time event, it was dark as hell...until they lighted up the torches. From down the hill it looked awesome. Coasting on bin liners is much more fun than using a general sled. Just try...
To sum up, skiing or boarding in Austria is a bless. Beautiful landscape, good food and Party without a break!!!
