Christopher came to Berlin in early December of 2007 as a travel writer for dodo.com. He has visited the British Isles, Ireland, the Netherlands, and most revered, Israel. He also drove 8,000 miles with his best friend on a 40-day coast-to-coast adventure through America. Born in Brooklyn and relocated to beautiful Seneca Lake (in New York State’s Finger Lakes), he has lived half his life in the city and half in the country, feeling at home in both.

Christopher studied six years in Binghamton, NY where he earned a double-Bachelor’s degree in philosophy and history as well as a Master’s in the Art of Teaching Social Studies (from Harpur College and the School of Education, respectively) at the State University of New York at Binghamton. Passionate about writing, Christopher is currently working on a collection of short stories as a testament to his native New York.

Claudia just finished her international studies at the University of Applied Sciences in Stralsund, Germany and has written her Bachelors Thesis on the development of dodo.com. She was there from the first minute of developing the portal. She started traveling at age of 12 and had been to the Czech Republic, Slovakia, France, Spain, England and Poland by the time she was 18 years old. She was never afflicted with homesickness, though she was touched with wanderlust. Claudia then decided to become an AuPair for 13 months after she finished school in 2002. Besides all the hard work and short finances, she managed to travel the USA from the East to the West coast and back. Shortly after arriving back in Germany, Claudia kept backpacking through Lithuania, Estonia, Sweden, England and again back to the USA, where she performed a 6 months internship in a company called Paige Electric Co. LP.

Julia joined our dodo-team in the summer of 2007 and has contributed innovative, creative ideas to our project. Julia studied business communication at the University of Applied Science in Berlin (FHTW). Wanderlust was put into her crib, as she flew to Moscow and the Black Sea by the time she was only 2 years old.
Today, she can not tell just how often she has traveled. Though Julia can say that she has visited at least one country per year. Whether an all-inclusive escape to a beach or backpacking through jungles or cities, Julia has covered much ground. Her memories about Africa, Norway and the Arabian Emirates have left a particularly deep impression.

Today we would like to start to introduce ourselves to you. Let’s get started with Beth.

Beth came from Kansas to Berlin in June of 2007 to do a travel writing internship for us. She has written guides to places all over the world, which can be found on Dodo.com. At age 16 she spent a year in Tours, France, and she has visited Europe several times since. Her next travel plans are to start exploring the Asian continent as soon as possible. One of Beth’s favorite things about traveling is getting to know the local peoples and cultures, instead of simply looking at tourist attractions. Beth lives in Lawrence, Kansas where she attend the University of Kansas. She is pursuing a bachelors degree in journalism and social work. She works for the Center for Remote Sensing of Ice Sheets, (CreSIS), where she writes articles about research in climate change and the happenings of the center. She has worked as an opinion columnist for the University Daily Kansan and as a guest columnist for the Lawrence Journal World.
